What is your background?
I always say I was a born and raised Texan, which isn't quite true, but I was only not a Texan for six months. I grew up in Houston and went to college in Austin at UT. Within the first semester of school I found nutrition, immediately switched and never looked back. During college I became a certified personal trainer and have to say one of the most influential people in my path today was a boss and friend that owned her own personal training business. I admired the way she ate, looked, and her motivation and passion for fitness, health, and her clients.
What are the values that drive you?
Honesty, determination, love, and discipline are probably the biggest four values for me. I was a competitive gymnast growing up and derived my sense of determination and discipline from that, which continue today through my work and personal goals. As I've grown and matured I've found honesty and love are two things I very much value in others and look to portray myself.
What do you like about working at the charge group?
Definitely two part answer! I get to develop connections with my clients through nutrition and get to see them succeed, which is definitely the best part of the job. Charge has also built a force of dietitians that are really amazing and I am proud to say I am a part of.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love doing Crossfit! If I'm not at work I'm most likely at the gym. I essentially grew up in a gym through gymnastics and now I get to fulfill my love of being in the gym through Crossfit. There's something about the workouts and the environment that I really resonate with. I wouldn't want it any other way!
What is your Favorite quote?
"Talk to yourself like someone you love." - Brene Brown
What is your favorite food or snack?
This might be the hardest question! I love food in general and it's hard to pick a favorite. Give me some good guacamole though and I think I might have to say that's my favorite.
name three of your favorite books, movies, or podcasts.
1. Grit by Angela Duckworth was a really great book.
2. Brute Strength podcast is one I love listening to on my way to the gym.
3. Time to nerd out a little, any Marvel movie I'm going to have to say is probably my favorite movie. I love a good Superhero Marvel movie!
